- A subscription on one of the Apple App Stores gives you access to the Mac and iOS versions of the app.
- What happens when the free trial ends?
- After you used all included free alerts in the trial the app will no longer show you any alerts.
- What happens if I cancel the subscription?
- You will still be able to use the app until the end of the subscription term. After that the app will no longer show you any alerts.
- Can I get a refund?
- If you don't like the app or it does not work for you then you can request a refund from Apple. Developers cannot directly issue refunds for app bought in the App Store. In case you bought a one-time license please contact iyf@bluebanana-software.com.
- What if I bought the app before the switch to the subscription model?
- Users who bought the app before the switch to the subscription model (August 2022) can make full use of the app without restrictions.
- Do I need a special version for the one-time license?
- Yes! The one-time license is only available with the non-App Store version of In Your Face (download here). All different versions of the app have the exact same functionality and will receive all updates at the same time.
- Can I use the one-time license in the iOS version?
- Unfortunately not. Apple's App Store policies prohibit any licenses purchased outside of Apple's own in-app purchase system.
[…] Apps may not use their own mechanisms to unlock content or functionality, such as license keys[…]

Why a Subscription-Based Model
Building and maintaining high-quality apps isn’t a one-time effort—it’s an ongoing process. Subscriptions help make that possible—not just for today, but for the long haul. Here’s why:
Regular updates require recurring income
Apps aren’t static. I release regular updates to keep things working smoothly, fix bugs, add new and improve existing features. A subscription ensures a steady stream of support for this ongoing development.
OS updates break things
Every year, new operating system versions bring changes that can break things. This often require code changes, UI tweaks, or deep fixes. Subscriptions help cover the time and work needed to keep the app compatible, stable and fresh.
Customer support matters
When you reach out with questions or issues, I want to respond quickly and helpfully. With a subscription model, I can make that part of the experience—not an afterthought.
You drive new features
Many of the features in the app exist because users asked for them. Subscriptions help fund the work needed to bring your ideas to life.
In short: a subscription isn’t a way to charge more—it’s what keeps the app alive, improving, and responsive to your needs. Thank you for your support!
