Multiple alert times
Stay ahead of every calendar event, from the first heads-up to the final alert
More than one chance to notice
One alert can be too early to act on or too easy to miss. Multiple alert times let you build a sequence around the event: an early heads-up, a reminder to get ready, and a final alert when it is time to switch.
Calendar events can have up to ten fullscreen alerts, each scheduled precisely. Duplicate times are prevented, and the final remaining alert is protected so every event always keeps a usable alert schedule.
Set a default schedule for your day
Configure a global alert schedule once, then use it for your calendar events. Choose the view that fits how you think about time:
- Timeline mode gives you a quick visual overview. Jump between hours, scroll through the day, long-press to insert an alert, and drag alerts to move them.
- List mode makes exact times easy to review and edit at a glance.
- Alerts at the same minute are grouped together, with an exact-time chooser available when overlapping alerts need more precision.
Give individual events their own rhythm
Some events need a different pace. Override the default schedule for an individual event with a focused list-based editor, without changing the alerts used by everything else.
This makes it easy to give a long appointment more preparation time, keep a short call simple, or add a final reminder to an event that is especially important.
A consistent experience across Apple devices
On iPhone, manage alerts in Timeline or List mode. On iPad, both views can appear side by side when there is enough space. On macOS, use the same precise scheduling idea alongside fullscreen alerts that are hard to miss.
Haptic feedback and clear visual markers make adding and moving alerts easier. The experience also respects localization, larger text sizes, and accessibility settings across platforms.
What happens when an alert fires?
Calendar events receive one fullscreen alert for every configured alert time. Each alert gives you another clear moment to pause, prepare, or switch to what is next.
Apple Reminders continue to use only the shortest alert time, keeping reminder behavior focused while calendar events can use the complete schedule.
